5 Fab Finds Clean Skin Care Products.jpg

This just in from the clean-beauty test kitchen: I loved the following five skin care products so much, I used them to the very last drop! Looking to jazz up your skin care routine with some new clean beauty products? These are worth knowing about.

Five Fab Clean Beauty Finds

1. Skin-smoothing nighttime face cream: Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm Cream

OMG, I can’t say enough about this face cream. I look forward to this product EVERY night (though you can use it in the morning, too, if you want!). It’s this beautifully thick-without-being-greasy, whipped-blue-but-goes-on-clear cream. I use it as my last skin-care step after cleansing and applying a serum or other “treatment” product to lock in moisture. It makes my skin look and feel so hydrated and smooth. The scent is very subtle and clean-smelling. As for the ingredients, they’re almost 100% organic, wild-crafted or non-GMO plant-sourced, and I love that it uses aloe vera juice, which is known for its many healing and hydrating properties, instead of water. This is a truly luxurious and badass skin care product. Buy it here.

2. A stress-relieving face massage: Jade Roller

OK, so there’s no using a roller to the last drop (it lasts). This is definitely one of the more trendy beauty items, but I’M SO INTO IT. I rub this sucker around my face when I get into bed, right after I’ve moisturized. It’s amazing how much tension you store in your face, and I feel like this just softens everything up. I even roll it over my jaw to combat the effects of clenching! The larger roller end is great for areas like your forehead and cheeks and the smaller roller end is for around your mouth, chin and eyebrows. My face roller is made of jade (but there are also lovely rose quartz options) and always feels cool, which is said to help close pores and tighten the skin. It helps stimulate blood circulation, which brings more oxygen to the skin and clears away toxins and impurities. Buy a jade here and a rose quartz here.

3. Long-lasting, travel-friendly, detoxifying facial soap: OSMIA Black Clay Facial Soap

I just love how this facial soap doesn’t dry out my skin yet does such a great job of cleaning it! That’s probably because of its combo of saponified (oils turned into soap) organic almond, avocado, olive and castor bean oils. It uses black Australian clay and Dead Sea mud to balance the skin and draw out impurities. Even though it’s called “black clay,” it doesn’t look “dirty” on your skin—coconut milk is what provides a very soft, white lather. This has zero smell, maybe a super-light earthy smell, and I’m cool with that. I don’t need every product I use to have a fragrance. Body lotion, yes; face wash, no. It is a small, travel-friendly size, but lasts for a long time (unlike conventional soaps). Buy it here.

4. A mask that subs for a facial treatment: Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

Hail this 100-percent non-toxic mask! I’ve used the jelly-like product once per week for six weeks and see its face-brightening effects. (I’m a little bit in love with my skin right now, I’m not gonna lie.) It reminds me of the enzyme masks applied during natural facials except with less tingle, and while this is a pricey product, I can justify it because it’s cheaper than a facial. It is a concentrated formula that uses BHA (beta-hydroxy acids) from white willow bark extract, pomegranate enzymes and pink clay to go to work on pores and texture. See ya, dead skin cells! One thing to note—the mask has a strong citrusy, earthy aroma which can be attributed to its bergamot essential oil. I happen to like it—and I like the effects even more—but for those with scent-sensitivity, it’s definitely not as subtle as the other products in this roundup! Buy it here.

5. An all-around awesome toner for all skin types: Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator

I just love a good toner, and this one made for all skin types—even sensitive skin—is the bomb! I spritz the nutrient-packed mist a few times all over my face after cleansing and before applying any oils or serums. The 4-oz. size is an at-home staple and the 2-oz. size hangs out in my purse for freshen-ups when I’m out and about. The mini is also great for a skin pick-me-up while traveling. Its scent is very mild and slightly sweet like a marshmallow (I do not like sweet-smelling products at all; this is not that…). Buy it here.
