Hello! I’m so happy you're here!

I’m a journalist who has covered health and wellness and beauty topics for almost two decades since my first “real” job at Health magazine. I don’t just write about it, though, I live and breathe this stuff every day, from using clean beauty products and cooking gluten-free meals (not by choice, but by necessity) to sweating it out in power yoga classes and growing an organic herb garden in my backyard in Atlanta.

Don’t get me wrong, I can still appreciate a glass of wine at the end of the day and recognize that a couple chemicals in your daily routine isn’t going to make or break your overall wellness. I like to make wellness fun and don’t want to get too hung up and “woo woo” about it, if you know what I mean!

But it wasn’t until I studied the holistic science of Ayurveda—just in the spirit of learning about its wellness philosophies—and got certified as an Ayurvedic Health Coach that I realized how truly challenging everyday wellness is for most people. As I started giving friends and family healthy lifestyle consultations, a light bulb went on: people, and busy women in particular who are often the head of their households, don’t have time to think too much about, let alone research, this stuff.

As I’m sure you know, it’s tough being healthy.

Wellness experts often say it’s easy, but the reality is, it’s not! It is time consuming to go to a spin class, to stand there reviewing ingredients at the grocery store, to meditate, to plan nutritious meals for the week, etc. We are all juggling demanding careers and/or family, and doing the best we can with the information and time we have.

What really makes me frustrated, though, is that some—many!—brands spin truths or flat-out lie to you with their messaging and packaging, making it even more overwhelming to make truly healthy choices. Grrr. Doesn’t that make you angry, too?! Again, who has any minutes left in the day to research and figure out what’s what? I have heard over and over “I HAVE NO MORE TIME, YA HEAR?” I hear.

That’s where Badass + Healthy comes in.

I truly believe that you can be both Badass and Healthy. You just need some help. So I’ll do the legwork, create the quick guides, pinpoint the very best product to buy, give you the real deal on what to make of the latest wellness trend and supply you with the tools to make the right decisions for you.

Being healthy doesn’t have to be flavorless. Let’s have fun while we’re at it!
